Seattle Day 2 (Ringo Starr – 2nd Best Drummer in the Beatles)
12:30
So its the first day of tracking and so far so good. After playing through the tracks badly yesterday I’ll be honest i wasn’t too hopeful of how everything was going to go. But after a 12 hour sleep, a litre of mountain dew and the help of a click track I’ve managed to track the 1st drum track for “Fashion”.
There’s a book in the mix room which has passed the time between takes, its the story of the Beatles recording at Abbey Road between 1962-1970. Its both very informative and hilarious. Ringo Starr has definitely gone up in my estimations, anybody that can track drums in a stuffy studio and still manage to be permanently smoking a fag is a bloody legend. Next time you listen to Yellow Submarine see if you can hear metal chains been swished about in a steel bath, i cant work out if that’s genius or proof that LSD is not welcome in the recording studio.
14:30
We’re are just in the motions of editing the first half of “Vegans”, we’ve split the track in half because of tempo changes. We’ve decided to keep the majority of it the same tempo, there’s a few bits in it now which sound intense just because they’re a few BMP faster. Were going to move onto the next half maybe later.
19:30 – end of the day
Tracking the second half of the “Vegans” wasn’t so easy, we had a massive gap between tracking so we all felt a bit knackered. We decided to call it a day and have a few beers down “The Buckaroo” the local biker bar. I swore to myself i’d stay sober until i’ve finished tracking all the drums… i lasted a day.

Day 3 – Seattle
We have arrived! After much trechorous travelling, We’ve made it. We got to the studio in style baby!! It turned out to be cheaper to get all of us in a stretch limo than a mini bus, so naturally, we opted for the limo. We were then dropped off in the middle of Aurora Ave N where we couldn’t find the studio and began to worry. However the entrance turned out to be round the side of the building and we got in just fine. Chris let us in and we started discussing what exactly it was we wanted to do but it was very late as well. So we ordered a pizza (which took an hour and 20 minutes to come cuz they couldn’t understand my accent) chowed down and hit the hay.
We all slept very well and Mule, Rich and Kirk went on a recon mission to get some breakfast we could cook. They found a 7-11 so we ate Bacon and egg sandwiches with a cup of tea that Mule had brought over. Once we were all dressed and ready we went over to American Music so Wiz could get some Cymbals and sticks, and we could get guitar strings and picks. Very helpful shop American Music so if you’re ever ordering American guitars or anything, google them cuz they’re ace people.
At this moment in time, I’m sat in the control room, while Chris is setting up drum mics so we can start getting a kit sound and do some pre-production.
We will be doing some videos but we’ve gotta locate a fire wire. The lovely man at American Music was going to sell us one for $5 but it was the wrong size. We have now found out that it was NOT the wrong size and we will have to go back and buy it later when we go get lunch, so expect some videos of out journey so far really soon.
Bye

Day 2 – Manchester Airport
We spent last night at the travelodge but after another eggy pint we decided that we should find another pub. Mule was being gay so we put him to bed and set off to a pub called “The Romper” make your own assumptions. It was actually really nice, we had a few beers infont of an open fire (which I had to light) then walked back through the ice roads of Manchester airport.
We were up at 7:30 for our £7.50 breakfast which was rank if I’m honest. Our main man Ken took us to the airport in his LDV Convoy, what better way to travel. We’re now sat waiting for our flight which is at 12. What an exciting day, next stop Atlanta.
