Berlin

Today we’re all exceptionaly tired and hung over. Rich drove to Berlin and enjoyed pissing people off on the autobahn. He didn’t enjoy all the red lights and pedestrian crossings, so decided to ignore most of them. He really didn’t enjoy putting the wrong address into the sat nav either…
Anyway, Berlin is really nice, a bit too cool for us lot, but nice all the same. Wiz, Peckhead and myself had a wander around, we walked past a cool bohemian restaurant called the ” Gypsy Kitchen” where it seemed that the kitchen was on fire so we decided to stop and have a beer with all the cool kids. We went back to venue and I fell asleep. I woke up to having to play. It wasn’t nice.
We stayed at a really nice guy called Rob’s house. It’s an old squat that had been renovated, it was huge and had a bar in it. Considering 35 people live there it is kept spotless and really clean, which made me happy. Everyone got a bed and a shower, Which was my first since Oslo…
We are now on the journey to Cracow in Poland. Our sat nav doesn’t work that east so me and Rich are navigating with directions and a shitty map. Wish us luck…

The scores were
Thom – 7.5
Sam – 7.5
Rich – 7
Wiz – 6.5

Hannover hangover

So I’m sitting at a bar, that I spent a lot of last night in front of, eating a ham and cheese sandwich. This is breakfast. In lay mans terms Hannover “fucking rocks, absolutely.” Although no one knew who we were, 200 people still watched us rock, kerazy. The game last night was standing on amps, it was hilarious. Neville didn’t get laid. We swapped a couple of tee shirts for a bottle of Jim Beam, Kirk spent the night trying not to get laid. To the best of my knowledge he didn’t, which was damn impressive. I wasn’t sick, which was even more impressive. Let’s go to Berlin.

The scores were
Thom – 9.5
Sam – 10 (thank you…)
Dick – 9
Wiz – 9

Vanersborg

Although we weren’t up as early as the past couple of days we managed to compensate by not going to sleep until nearly 6am. So after a nice 4 and a half hours rest it’s back in the fucking van, at least it’s only 4 hours today.
The show was at a youth center, with the emphasis on the word ‘youth’. The band that opened up were four 14 year old boys fronted by a 15 year old girl. Check them out, it’s hilarious

I think that’s right. In Sweden the government give kids money to buy instruments and start bands, how cool is that? Black metal baby. The game tonight was handstands, no one actually participated in the game because it was a pretty weird show and was very hot. I don’t think there was any one in the audience with either facial hair or a menstrual cycle.
We stayed in the venue, which was cool. I had a sofa all to myself.

The scores were
Thom – 8
Sam – 8
Dick – 8
Wiz – 7.5

Oslo

The drive through Sweden and Norway was amazing. We listened to Bill Hicks and I think I had the best burger king of my life. The scenery up here is beautiful, loads of mountains and shit. We had a fridge full of beer waiting for us at the venue, that was nice.
The game tonight was piggy backs, extra points if you could get a piggy back off of an audience member. I managed it.
After the show I got talking to a very interesting character named Evan. He was a middle aged socialist who didn’t understand why I chose to play music and not work in industry for the good of my people. I think he saw it as being selfish, which I suppose it is to a certain degree. The conversation did spawn an analogy I am proud of though. I tried to explain that like massive food companies, for example McDonalds and Tescos, there are massive artists like Madonna and the Pet Shop Boys. As well as these monster companies there are also small privately owned bakeries and butchers that don’t turn over a huge profit but just enough to continue, so essentially we, being blakfish, are like a bakery… His answer to this was that we sounded like shit, although someone later told me he didn’t even watch us. He started to lose me when he said I was “Robin Hood”, I told him he was Stalin, he didn’t like that. Evan is not married, didn’t seem to have many friends and smelt strange.
While I was having fun arguing, Rich was being introduced to new exciting apps for his iPhone, and Neil was being introduced to excitement…. You can see the great new photos made with Rich’s new toy on here. Don’t we look lovely?

The scores were
Thom – 10
Sam – 10
Dick – 10
Wiz – 9 (due to not completing tonights task)

Copenhagen

Land ahoy. We made it to Copenhagen about 6. Myself (Sam) and luke rescued a local drunk that had Pissed himself from a bike rack. It was quite apparent that Scandinavian women are much more attractive than any other continent we have been to. We decided that we needed to make the shows a bit more interesting so we introduced a game. The rules were, if we fucked up we had to remove an item of clothing. I ended up in just my pants, although I lost 2 items for calling a pilot a “plane driver”.
We stayed at Andrejs appartment in the city center, it was lovely. Up at 9 for another 7 hour drive, Oslo here we come.

The scores were:
Thom – 8
Sam – 8
Dick – 8
Wiz – 8

Amsterdam and Utrecht

We had a day off on the 2nd so we decided to take a trip to Amsterdam to enjoy the canals and windmills. We had a night of much joy looking at the lovely female shop assistants in the “red light district” not sure why it was called that as it was mostly pedestrianised so no traffic lights at all. We slept in the van right next to the canal which wasn’t as bad as expected.

We drove to Utrecht the next morning which was only 30 minutes away but due to awful roadworks going on it took double that.

We arrived in Utrecht at 11am. The venue was a collection of practice rooms, a bar and live room. We didn’t have to do anything until 6pm so we played football drank free beers provided by my main man Andre in the glorious sunshine. The rider was amazing, loads of Chinese food which is slightly different to ours back home.

The gig was good too, thought I’d mention that part. We stopped in a hostel where all the staff were very nice. We all went straight to bed because of the early start we had the next day. Wiz Came back from the car park the following morning with his usual joke “the van has been towed lads” except this time it wasn’t a joke. Apparently on Saturdays the car park turns into a flower Market and our transit van was right in the middle of it. If any of us could have read dutch we would be €345 richer than we are today.

Oh well 8 hour drive with no money for fuel, why do we bother.

Last nights scores,

Sam: 8
Wiz: 8
Peckett: 7.5
Rich: 5.5

My personal worst, I’m aiming for 4 tonight.

Rouen

So day 1 went pretty much to plan. We got down to tiger tours where we were picking up the hire van and dumping ours with them, god knows where they’ve put it.

We picked the American’s up from East London and headed off for the Channel Tunnel really late but after flirting with 2 Male customs officers and other members of staff they let us on an earlier train.

Rouen is the nicest place I’ve been to in France, the Catheral’s are amazing the iPhone photo’s don’t do it justice really. Big thanks to Damien, Jeff and everyone else at “We are the robots”.

Kirk our manager has decided to score us all on performance, precision, sex appeal and bonus points for rocking out.

We all achieved 6.5, you didn’t miss much.

Day 1 = good.

P.S. French women are amazing.

Europe!

It’s 7am, I’m having a cup of tea with my mum waiting for Wiz to come and pick me up. We’re off to London to pick up a hire van (we’ve given up with our own) getting the Americans and then off to France for our first gig tonight. I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for any of this but the fact I haven’t slept means I must be excited!

Loving it in Eastbourne!
